NASA manager | Integrated Flight Certification | Class of 1999

Among the 1,001 activities students partook in over the years on the Quad was tag — with a twist.

“I remember rather fondly the evening rollerblading games of tag on the Quad when I was a freshman,” says Tyler Nester, NASA’s Alabama-based integrated flight certification manager.

“At the time, rollerblading was at a bit of a peak in its popularity, and there were about 50 people that seemed to gather there in the evenings.

“The other not-so-serious memory is that the group of friends I had would occasionally go to the old Steak ’n Shake on Green Street late on the weekends," adds Nester, who received his bachelor's in mechanical engineering in 1999 before going on to earn his master's in the same field at Michigan State.

"We had quite a few fun late nights there as a group.”
