For their sake, Gabe Walder can only hope that future Illini have their own Paul McNamara to turn to in times of need.
“Paul served as my personal and professional mentor during and after my undergraduate years. He helped guide me in my decision making to pursue international development as a career and we have stayed in contact over the last eight years,” Walder says from Washington state, where the 2007 Mahomet-Seymour High grad serves as director of the nonprofit Alliance for Children Everywhere.
“Paul is an amazing individual, father, husband and friend. My time at UIUC would not of been as formative without him.
“My hope is that future UIUC students are able to find a similar mentor that can help shape their personal and professional lives.”
