Forty-five years later, it’s not a building or bar that Steve Pearl (BS ’73 accountancy) remembers most fondly about his time at Illinois.
It’s the people — specifically two professors who made their marks in unique ways.
“Professor Ken Perry not only superbly prepared students for the CPA exam; he was on the Quad and in front of the Union to greet exam takers and cheer them on. A real confidence booster,” the Cross Continental Capital CEO says from his home in Tucson, Ariz.
“I will also always remember Professor (Gerald) Brighton and his confidence in my integrity, something I have always tried to live up to.
“I was out of town for a weekend and became very ill. I missed an exam on Tuesday without calling. He accepted my explanation without proof from a doctor or any other documentation.”
