“I want to give a special shoutout to the bus that shuttled me from place to place on a daily basis, whether it was taking me to class or to go out on a Saturday night,” says Cathy Yu ('05), now senior counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

“The best thing about it was, half the time I would get on, I would have the happy surprise of running into a friend," Yu says.
"For me, UIUC was the perfect mix of being large enough to offer a plethora of wonderful things to do but small enough that the opportunities didn’t feel overwhelming, and I’ll always be grateful to have started my adulthood there and grateful for the 22 being there to help me make the most of it.”
