Jacob Ambrose

Co-founder, managing partner | Armory Capital | Class of 2003

It was a 1990s Ambrose tradition: If the rival Hoosiers were in town for a football or basketball game, three generations of fans from the family were in the stands.

There was Jacob, who’d go on to earn a finance degree from the Gies College of Business in 2003, his dad Joe (BS ’79, finance) and Grandpa Joe (BS ’49, finance).

“I have so many wonderful memories from four years at U of I, but the best memories took place at Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall before I was a college student,” says Jacob, who co-founded Champaign’s Armory Capital and now serves as its managing partner. “My dad and grandpa took me to the Illinois-Indiana basketball and football games every year when I was a kid.”

Like father and grandfather, like son, a generation later: “Taking my children to Illini sports is a tradition I love continuing,” Jacob says.
