Hing-Yan Lee isn’t the only one in his family who’d rank the Quad No. 1 on their favorite campus places list.
Now a Singapore-based executive VP for the Cloud Security Alliance, Lee spent five-plus years at the UI, earning a master’s and Ph.D. in computer science.
He fondly remembers morning walks through the Quad on the way from his apartment in family housing at Goodwin and Green to lectures. And then there’s the rest of the family.
“My wife would pass through it on her way to her work at the David Kinley Hall,” Lee says. “In winter, our two children will play in the snow covering the Quad, while they would run around it, learn to roller skate and blow bubbles in the evenings of the other months.”
