The seeds of Nancy Greenwalt’s career in community healthcare advocacy were planted 30 years ago in Celeste Condit’s classroom.
“Professor Condit taught a class called Corporate Advocacy where I learned about the power of communication and public relations,” says the 1989 communication grad, who’s now executive director at Promise Healthcare.
“The topics were current, and the exercises were practical. She welcomed discussions in class and meetings outside of class to talk about the morality of messaging and corporate responsibility.
“At the time, I worried how power and influence like we discussed in class might only be available to rich corporations. That got me started looking for how I could make an impact on the common good and be a voice for the underserved.
“I am fortunate to have found a career that was born from those discussions.”
