"I was an active member of AIESEC. When I was marketing director, we showed movies in a classroom at Lincoln Hall — this was in 1984-1985 — as a fundraiser.
"One weekend, we showed 'Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,' which was a huge fundraising success. We showed it twice a night and every night was sold out. It was like a 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' event — people blew bubbles during the soda pop floating scene; sorority girls danced the Oompa Loompa dance in the aisles.
"The university let us use a projector, and we rented the movie reels from a place in Chicago."
