You name it, Alissa (Groeninger) Rivera did it during the umpteen hours she put in at Illini Media HQ.
“Editing and reporting for The Daily Illini and Illio yearbook, along with the consequential friendships I made, helped mold me into the person I am today,” says the Chicago-based digital campaigns associate at the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law.
“I learned the value of a deadline, the joy of managing a team, the delicacy of balancing responsibilities and the exhilaration of laughter in the workplace. I learned to be an adult.
“While 512 East Green Street may now be apartments, in my heart it will always be the place we worked, we studied, we laughed and we bonded.”
