As a licensed nutritionist and former faculty member in the UI’s Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Clare Hasler-Lewis (MBA ’03) is a full-fledged foodie.
And she’s here to tell you: Champaign-Urbana ought to be thankful for what they have in pizza.
“I have three words when I think about Champaign, Illinois: Papa Del’s pizza,” she says. “I’ve been living in California for more than 13 years and although the weather is decidedly better, the pizza is not. That double crust, that quadruple cheese, the savory tomato sauce. Add a glass of red wine and you’ve got the four basic food groups.
“Some say food creates the best memories. Sharing Papa Del’s pizza with family and friends was one of mine from 11 years in the Prairie State.”
