Jerry Elliott

Portland law firm president | Elliott, Ostrander & Preston

Whenever Jerry Elliott needed a nudge, a late, great metallurgical engineering educator was usually the one to give it.

“Professor Robert Bohl was my academic advisor and a great man and mentor. He had a calm manner, and he wasn’t afraid to rock the boat and help me achieve my dream of finishing my engineering degree and going to law school,” Elliott says from Oregon, where he’s now the president of the Portland law firm of Elliott, Ostrander & Preston.

“On a less serious note, I also remember spending way too many hours — and quarters — playing the new and highly entertaining Donkey Kong video arcade game in the basement of the Illini Union and then walking over to Murphy’s Pub and ordering a Guinness Stout.”
