"I lived there freshman year and worked at the dining hall for three years there," says Boeing structural design engineer Joe Martinez ('14). "I worked there with my best friend and I actually met my fiancée while we worked at ISR.
"It’s funny looking back and thinking about how we first interacted — while showing my fiancée how to change the milk containers in the dining hall.
Another favorite spot: the fourth floor of Engineering Hall, Martinez's frequent homework hangout.
"Many nights were spent in that building doing work late," he says. "On the first floor, our SHPE chapter has its office and I spent a lot of time there, too. I made some lifelong friends through SHPE and they are all like family to me."
