Eight years later, Keleigh Gibbs still has three copies of every edition of The Daily Illini with her byline in it.
As mementos from her college years go, those newspapers are up there.
“The Daily Illini is where I first felt the excitement of a sharing a story with a broad audience,” says Gibbs (’09), now an anchor/reporter at Kansas City’s KMBC-TV.
“I remember the days the paper would hit the stands. After a late night of dance practice at the Armory, I would get up early and head to the first newspaper dispenser.
“I loved seeing the finished product, as well as my story in print.”
