Amanda Sonneborn

Chicago law partner | Seyfarth Shaw LLP | Class of 1999

Amanda Sonneborn’s favorite Illini memories are more about people than places.

“My mind automatically jumps to debating in class at Lincoln Hall or the English Building with my favorite professors, Bill Bernhard and Lori Newcomb — both of whom shaped my life by dramatically improving my writing and by analytical abilities — or going to see a Phish concert at Assembly Hall with friends where I ended up hanging out for the first time with my future husband. Little did I know then," says the Chicago attorney (BA ’99, political science/English; JD ’03).

“I certainly remember the places where those memories took place, but without question, it is the interaction with the people from my time there that brings back the warm, nostalgic feelings.”
