So scrumptious was the grub at Po’Boys, it’s enough to make a vegetarian rethink her dietary decision.
“It was one of my favorite places to frequent for a late night study break," says Civia Tamarkin, a former producer at ABC and CNN. "I can still taste the white bread dripping in the best barbecue sauce.
“What a great memory since my heath-conscious diet had not included white bread or meat for decades. But back in the '60s, we welcomed the chance to cajole anyone with a car to drive to the infamous Po’Boys.”
