The three wise men who share first place on Elitsa Dimitrova’s favorite professors list had more in common than offices at the College of Law.
“Professor (Peter) Maggs, Professor (Charles) Tabb and Professor (Larry) Ribstein were all very knowledgeable teachers and researchers,” says Dimitrova (JD ’10), a corporate associate at Chicago’s Freeborn & Peters.
“I learned a lot from them both work-wise and human-wise, them being very humble and friendly individuals. They are very famous in their respective field, as well. Unfortunately, Professor Ribstein passed away a few years ago.”
As for a favorite hangout, Dimitrova’s happiest memories are of the now-shuttered Espresso Royale on Daniel.
“Lots of studying and meeting friends there,” she says. “Otherwise, the College of Law, Krannert, Krannert Museum, C Street, Kopi, the Illini Union, the Quad and Murphy’s.”
