Melissa Tombro’s happy place is the stage at Foellinger Auditorium, where she can still hear herself belting out tunes with the famous Chamber Singers.
"There is a feeling to the space that is inspiring and really gave me a sense of being part of something bigger on campus when I performed for the community in concerts and operas," says the associate professor at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.
“One favorite memory I have there is rehearsing and working with Mark Morris on the opera 'Dido and Aeneas.' He is a force to be reckoned with, and experiencing his energy and amazing musical direction as he danced around the stage is something I will never forget.
"A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
