To 2000s College of Education grad student Mike McRee, he was President Ikenberry.
“Not only was he an excellent instructor, but he was a spectacular advisor,” McRee, a two-degree UI grad, says of the university's longest-serving president and later, professor.
“Additionally, I was not significantly important to him, but he always remembered my name even in locations outside of the class. There were many things that impressed me about him, but those stuck with me.”
