That picture you see is of Ricca Slone (JD ’90) and her three sons, two of whom were born during her law school days in Champaign-Urbana.
She didn’t have to go far to visit what became her favorite place — “(Krannert) art museum across the street, which was aesthetically pleasing and a relatively stress-free spot to relax for a quick lunch or visit,” as Slone puts it.
Now a lecturer at Northwestern’s School of Professional Studies, Slone has a lot to share. Her career includes an eight-year stretch as an Illinois state representative (succeeded by Aaron Schock) and stints with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Office of Management and Budget.
