To all those Mumford Hall faculty members who believed in Sophia Battle comes this long-distance love letter — from 4,000-plus miles away.
“I received so much kindness, support, opportunity and education in that hall,” says Nike’s Netherlands-based European procurement director (BS ’99, international resource and consumer economics; MS ’01, international and policy economics).
“I worked there, studied there and enjoyed many fun times laughing into the early morning with other grad students studying in the attic, which once was a computer lab.
“Many faculty believed in me and I credit them for the international career I have today, which all started there in Mumford Hall.”
