Tom Koch-Weser

Former manager, advance information | Houston Astros | Class of 2004

Long before he became one of the behind-the-scenes players in baseball's best story of 2017, Tom Koch-Weser ('04) spent many a night at the corner of Oak and Armory, "walled in by the train tracks, a power plant and the cooling towers across the street."

"We had to make do at our quaint, eight-person home by selling parking spots on our front yard while the Bears played there in the fall of 2002, something we gradually learned was not legal as a few citations were earned," says the Houston Astros' former manager of advance information.

“Our lot was also turned it into a beach with the joint help of the Evans scholars. The party was great but sand is very heavy and difficult to clean up.”
