Words to live by, from Jennifer Follis to the hundreds of aspiring journalists she’s taught over the years at Illinois:
The best way to end it, is to end it.
“She would say that from time to time when instructing us on how to and when to end an article — ‘just end it,’” says Follis fan and 2006 alumna Toccara Castleman, now an Emmy-winning senior editor and writer at NBC Universal's Syfy.com and USANetwork.com
“I switched majors and graduated with a degree in Media Studies-Mass Communications but Professor Follis' lesson has always stuck with me.
“The best way to end one chapter of anything — a personal or professional relationship, a business venture, a creative project, etc. — is to ‘just end it’ and then turn the page to start anew.”
