Barb Markoff (BS ’94, broadcast journalism) can sum up her Illinois experience in four spots:
— There’s Gregory Hall, where the now-investigative producer for Chicago’s ABC 7 News took most of the classes for her major. “I have fond memories of the spirited conversations I had with the late Jerry Landay. He definitely sparked my love for journalism. I also spent many late nights editing my stories in the spooky basement.”
— There’s the old WPGU radio studio. “I did early morning news and recall running to the studio still wearing my pajamas in order to make my slot.”
— There’s Willy’s Pizza. “Many late night climbs up the stairs to get a greasy slice.”
— And there’s the Student Alumni Ambassadors office at the Union. “I loved working on choosing the Illini Comeback guests for Homecoming. It was always inspiring to see what great things alums were doing.”
