With an alumni base as big as Illinois’, grads never know where they’re going to bump into a fellow former Illini.
But Carol Craig (’90) never figured she’d bump into a fellow central Floridian who loved the same Campustown bar she did.
“There are many campus spots that come to mind when I think about U of I but the first one is always O’Malley's. In fact, when a local community leader and I realized that we both went to Illinois at the same time, we immediately went to a discussion about O’Malley’s Pub.
“I spent more time there than I did in the classrooms. Nothing was better than O’Malleys at midnight and singing ‘American Pie.’
“We then looked at each other and seriously hoped that we had never dated. We’re pretty sure we didn’t,” says the founder and CEO of Craig Technologies.
