Before she hit the big-time as a Hollywood casting director, Caroline Liem played the real-life role of a young actress.
“I was in the grad program in theatre. Having the privilege to be both student and teacher, mentor and mentee, spending every waking and dreaming moment being challenged to be the best artist I could be was everything," says Liem, a member of the Class of 1996.
"Krannert Center, and its corrugated walls, has a piece of my heart and I am forever grateful for my teachers, Studio 2AB, Studio Theatre, Colwell Playhouse, as well as Red Herring and Espresso Royale for daily sustenance and caffeine.
“I mention ‘a piece of my heart’ because I was in that production in the Studio Theatre and nominated for an Irene Ryan Award for my performance.”
