A word to the wise for future UI freshmen:
“When walking around the Quad, keep your head on a swivel when crossing the bike paths," advises Nike senior innovator Dan Johnson, who saw plenty of fellow students this lesson the hard way.
"I recall many a time folks, aiming to just stroll across the street, would fail to look both ways up and down the bike paths. Obviously, with the high curbs on Wright Street, the cyclists can´t swerve to avoid the pedestrians, so blam. Down goes the pedestrian who failed to look both ways.
“Put down your phones and pay attention, people.”
