“I absolutely love the Quad and when I came on my first visit to the university, I was told the story of the Kissing Bench," says former Illini volleyball star Hillary Tennant.
"The light actually turned on that day and that’s when I knew that I wanted to come there.
“I shared that story with my husband when he was just my boyfriend, and it’s where we first said ‘I love you’ and also the place he chose to propose marriage.
"It’s been a very special spot in my life.”
