In all his years since, Kevin Conlon has never bitten into a tastier fish sandwich than the ones served up at DeLuxe Lunch and Billiards.
“I was only in Champaign-Urbana for one year while I earned my master’s in industrial relations,” the Conlon & Dunn Public Strategies president (MA ’81) says from Chicago, “but to this day I remember the amazing fish sandwiches at the DeLuxe on Green Street.
“It was a Friday ritual, along with a game or two of pool at the tables there.”
