For a horticulture/floriculture major like Lee Phillips, there was no place on campus in the late ’60s quite like the fourth floor of Lincoln Hall.

“I would wander around for hours studying the artifacts, imagining life in ancient Egypt and trying to pronounce the names of the ancient rulers,” says the Online Seminars for Municipal Arborists founder.

“As I progressed through my years at Illinois, I became fascinated with the ancient architecture and disregard for the landscape and trees — something that has never changed throughout the ages.”
