Paulo Drummond’s trip down memory lane begins where so many do — on the UI Quad.
"I know. Not too out of the ordinary," says the director of the International Monetary Fund's capacity development center in Africa. "But it is the quintessential piece of the campus. I spent a lot of time either sitting or eating or walking through the Quad.
"The anecdote that I would share is the day when we — myself and my wife — saw freezing rain for the first time, on a freezing winter day, and the Quad was beautifully blanketed with ice.
"We wanted to touch and absorb all the beauty that came along with that winter day.”
