The South Sixth Street spot where cable television lifer Rob Kennedy (BS ’78, electrical engineering) met the former Cynthia Marchigiani is no more.
“Sadly, Second Chance burned down in 1977. But Cynthia and I were married in 1979, and our flame is still lit after 37 years — and counting,” Kennedy says.
He’s come a long way since his underclassman days in the mid-’70s, when he remembers learning a few important lessons in his first time away from home.
No. 1: “Separate colors from whites when washing clothes. I had a batch of pink underwear as a constant reminder.”
Named recipient of the College of Engineering’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2012, Kennedy has been C-SPAN’s president and co-COO since 2006.
