What Ron Sipiora wouldn’t give for a Garcia’s Gutbuster right about now.
Ask the BPI Group’s senior VP about his Illini experience in the mid ’70s, and his mind races to the old Garcia’s on Wright Street.
“When in grad school, I’d routinely head over for a beer and Gutbuster slice at or about 10:30 when I finished studying in the office,” Sipiora says. “I miss the Flying Tomato Brothers.”
Forty years after graduation day, Sipiora still maintains close ties to the UI’s School of Labor & Employment Relations, both as a donor and alumni networker.
