Where she’d be now had she not had John Paul for a professor, Saira Anwer will never know.
But this much she’s sure of: The road to south Florida, where the 2012 College of Media grad is an Emmy-nominated TV news reporter at WPLG, was at least in part paved by Paul.
“Television news is a competitive field, but John Paul always fostered teamwork and camaraderie in his courses,” Anwer says from Miami, home since 2018 after two-year stints in North Dakota and Madison, Wis.
“The friendships and connections I built during his classes are ones I maintain today. They have helped me build a career that I am very proud of.”
