Whenever Zach Groth has needed an extra boost with a job search or a few words of career wisdom, he's always known where to turn.
Just as College of Media professors John Paul and Ken Erdey where there for him during his undergrad days at the start of the decade, they’ve remained his go-to guys as an alum.
“You have to develop a lot of different skills to prepare yourself for a career in television reporting, and these two do a remarkable job in that area,” the 2013 grad says from Fort Wayne, Ind., where he’s the sports director at WPTA-TV.
“While JP stressed the importance of accuracy, the need to constantly work on writing, Ken had strengths in other areas and really helped me appreciate the art of shooting video.
“Both of them do an excellent job keeping in touch with former students. I’ve gone to each of them as references in the past, and they’re always willing to lend advice when it’s needed.”
