Amy Liu

Planner | Juneau, Alaska | Class of 2015

These days, she has gorgeous views like the one you see in the picture.

But before moving to Alaska, it didn’t get any better for Amy Liu than climbing the stairs on a summer night and opening the door to Altgeld Hall’s chime tower, where she was a student player from 2012-15.

“My favorite piece to play was an excerpt of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 Movement 2. That music was powerful and peculiar, much like the anonymity of ringing these magnificent bells at a curious time of night,” says Liu (BA ’15, urban and regional planning), now a planner for the city and borough of Juneau.
