These days, he works in the so-called “world’s famous arena.” But not a day passes that former star safety Marc Jackson (BS ’03) doesn’t think about the glory days back on his personal field of dreams.
“The most memorable place for me will always be Memorial Stadium,” says Jackson, now vice president for season membership sales at the Madison Square Garden Co.
“Saturdays in the fall were legendary at Memorial Stadium with Chief Illiniwek, the Block I rocking, the drums from the Marching Illini. Nothing was better. Those experiences will always live with me and I’ll rep the Fighting Illini forever. Oskee wow wow.”
He doesn’t have to travel to get a slice of life in Campustown, either.
“I constantly ship pizzas from Papa Del’s to New York to this day,” Jackson says.
