Award-winning attorney Bill Heinz (JD ’73) is a partner at the powerhouse Chicago law firm of Jenner and Block.
As in Albert E. Jenner Jr., the professor boxer turned Daily Illini circulation editor turned assistant counsel to the Warren Commission, and one of the UI’s most esteemed alumni of them all.
“My predominant memory of my time at Illinois involves the incredible array of talented College of Law faculty and alumni. It made one realize that with a law degree from Illinois and further hard work, a very promising career certainly was obtainable,” says Heinz, a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at the UI College of Law.
“You would also be fully equipped to compete with graduates from the other fine law schools in the country.
“Although the names are almost too numerous to mention, the following faculty stand out: John Cribbet, J. Nelson Young, Hon. Prentice Marshall, Hon. Harold Baker and Wayne LaFave.
"The College of Law was also well-connected to its distinguished alumni, including my future employer, Albert E. Jenner Jr.”
