Jim Neckopulos

Executive director/banking | Ernst & Young | Class of 1977

That picture you see shows Jim Neckopulos (right) and his Psi Psi fraternity brothers — (from left) Jon Groesbeck, Bob Dudley and Chris Perry — at the house’s 2016 rededication.

For Neckopulos (’77), now the San Francisco-based executive director of banking for Ernst & Young, the spot is No. 2 on his list of favorite spaces.

No. 1? “Without question, Stan Wallace’s Gridiron Bar,” he says. “It was the hangout for me and my fraternity brothers. It is where I celebrated my 21st birthday — as the U of I closed that day for the first time many years due to weather. And my wife, Lynn, was in the Kappa Alpha Theta — 50 steps across the street from Stan’s.”
