During move-in week ’19, we asked UI faculty members to tell us a story about their own experience of leaving home for the first time. Here’s Class of ’91 UI grad John Caughlin, who returned to his alma mater in 2000 and now runs the College of LAS’ Department of Communication.
“I remember being pleasantly surprised how easy move-in day was.
"Those Illini Guides met our family station wagon at the curb, loaded everything on a little cart, and had everything in my new FAR dorm room in no time.
“I’m glad to see the Illini Guide tradition is still going.”
