All these years later, Judy Wiegand remembers the late-night, stress-busting “study sessions” (wink wink) that “helped take the edge off.”
"When I see my former classmates, we always laugh at the stress we put ourselves under and reflect fondly on the time spent together at the University of Illinois," says the former Champaign schools superintendent, who earned her master's in education from the UI in 1991 and her doctorate on the same campus 12 years later.
"This was probably the most sleep-deprived time of my life," she says. "When I reflect back, I wonder how I ever managed to work full-time, attend school and have a family.
"Somehow, it all worked out."
