Michelle Fraser-Page

Safety engineer | NASA’s Johnson Space Ctr. | Class of 1991

A valuable lesson future NASA safety engineer Michelle Fraser-Page learned in between bites of cheap pizza in the student lounge of the Mechanical Engineering Building:

The group is always smarter than the individual.

"It’s a lesson that carried me through graduate school and stayed with me at NASA," says the 1991 mechanical engineering grad. “Now, I’m collaborating with the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency and the safety and flight teams at Johnson Space Center to ensure the safety of the space station and its crew.”

Just like during her undergrad years, much of which she spent alongside friends "studying in the Mechanical Engineering Building student lounge several nights a week to complete our engineering homework," she says.

“We’d order the cheapest pizza we could find for dinner and help each other with homework."
