When Sheila Johnson returns to campus in May to receive an honorary degree at commencement, you can be sure she'll swing by two of her favorite old haunts.
No. 1: the Tri Delta Sorority house. "Miss America was a member of this sorority. I remember smiling with pride when I would see her. She was a true beauty," says Johnson ('70), the BET co-creator and the first black woman to attain a reported net worth of $1 billion.
No. 2: “I think about the String Annex. As a music student, how can you not?" she says. "I had my lessons in that building, practiced my heart out and took my juries."
