Ugur Uygur

Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship | Loyola University of Chicago | Class of 2005

We say UIUC, Turkish grad student-turned-American professor Ugur Uygur says ... Cafe Kopi.

The downtown Champaign coffeehouse was “that special place for me when I think of my time” in Champaign-Urbana, the two-degree UI grad says from Chicago, where he’s now an associate professor of entrepreneurship at Loyola University.

“I have written many good parts of my dissertation there, met great friends, had enlightening conversations and felt secure in a way that was not possible on campus.”

Uygur earned both his master’s (strategic management, 2005) and Ph.D. (strategy and entrepreneurship, 2009) from Illinois.
