As a grad student with a journalism/political science focus, Gary Kebbel spent most of his time at Gregory and Lincoln halls.
“But what I always got a kick out of was that after a political science class, I would ride my bicycle from the Quad to Willard Airport to take flying lessons. I used my course electives to become a private pilot through the Institute of Aviation," he says.
"That still kind of breaks me up. Where else could you do that?”
Now a professor of media at the University of Nebraska, Kebbel's journalism stops include AOL (news director), The Washington Post (online home page editor) and USA Today (graphics and deputy editor).
