In his 28 years in academia, Gerry Beyer has taught law on college campuses from coast to coast — Boston College, SMU, Ohio State, Santa Clara and Texas Tech, just to name a few.
And for that, he has the late, great Eugene Scoles in part to thank.
“The highlight of my two visits to UIUC was working with Professor Eugene Scoles, College of Law, as my J.S.D. dissertation advisor,” says Beyer, the Governor Preston E. Smith Regents Professor of Law at Texas Tech.
“Despite being almost ready to retire, he agreed to work with me and share his valuable insights from his long years of experience.
"Professor Scoles was a tremendous mentor who furnished me with some of the best advice of my academic career.”
