Finance manage | Dow Chemical | Class of 2001

Dow Chemical finance manager Seth Wessels submitted his Illini memory in the form of a birthday card.

It goes:

“Happy 150th birthday, Illinois.

“From the majestic beauty of the Quad, the hallowed halls/labs of Noyes/Adams Labs; packed houses at Assembly Hall/Memorial Stadium and serenity of the Engineering/Main Libraries; to the vast knowledge learned from iconic professors, team building with brilliant peers, releasing of competitive energies at IMPE/UI Golf Course, and close-knit Illini bonds of pride that continue to the present, these are just a few of the images and takeaways that come to mind in thinking about my alma mater and my Illini days as a young and developing chemical engineering and seasoned MBA.

"I’m proud to have been a part of the Illini family over its first 150 years since its founding as one of the premier land grant universities under the Lincoln presidency.

"I bleed orange and blue and am confident the next 150 years will be just as bright, as long as the alumni support and investment in top-notch professors and students continues and the University of Illinois stays true to the following:

"Unsurpassed work ethic. Pursuit of excellence. Winning culture. Return on investment. Innovation leadership. Honesty/Integrity. Midwest Pride.

“Here’s to 150 more.”
