Wei Wei Jeang

Texas attorney | Grable Martin Fulton PLLC | Class of 1986

To the Honors Differential Equations professor who taught her class in the ’80s — whomever and wherever you are — Wei Wei Jeang would like to take a moment to extend a belated thanks from Dallas.

When the 1986 computer engineering alumna enrolled in your course, she says now, “I wasn’t sure if it would be over my head. Differential Equations was required for my major and the regular classes were full.

“The first day, I walked into the classroom in Altgeld Hall — and silently gasped. I was the lone woman in a roomful of mostly short and nerdy men. It was too late to walk back out of the room, so I stayed and hung in there.

“All of us in that class flunked the very first exam. The professor took pity on us and gave us another chance. I ended up with an A in that class.

“I regret not remembering the name of the professor, because I would love to look him up.”
