A Friday in the life of future Chicago talent agent Alice (Gorman) Singer, circa the early ’90s:
“Finishing class early on a Friday and meeting my friend and roommate Jenny at The Bread Company on Green Street to get an egg salad sandwich to go.
“Stopping by Record Service a couple of doors down to see what was new, then heading home to our house on Sixth and Green to watch ‘Guiding Light.’
“Later that night, heading to dinner — either the triple cheese grilled cheese sandwich at the White Horse, a slice at Garcia’s or nachos at Coslow’s.
“Then on to Eddie’s or Chins for a drink before making our way to Mabel’s for a show.”
