Since November 2014, Allan Mustard (MS '82) and Ann Anderson, the former WCIA newscaster he courted on campus, have lived happily in the former USSR.
Their home is the American embassy in Turkmenistan, where Mustard is the U.S. ambassador. Unfortunately, there’s no Garcia’s Pizza in central Asia, so they settled for the next best thing.
“Ann and I ended up acquiring two deep-dish pizza pans so we could make our own Chicago-style pizzas wherever we were in the world,” he says. Just the other day, "we hosted the Marine Security Guard contingent of Embassy Ashgabat to our official residence for home-baked stuffed pizza and a movie.
“C-U’s influence on my culinary habits lives on.”
