We asked a few Illini sports greats what they remember most about the day they said “I do” to C-U. Here’s ATP Tour pro Rajeev Ram, whose one year at Illinois was a memorable one — he went 32-0 and helped lead Craig Tiley’s crew to its first NCAA team title in men’s tennis.
“Illinois was the first recruiting trip I took and I knew as soon as it was done that it was the right choice for me.
“I took the other visits just to be sure but my instinct turned out to be correct.
“I didn´t feel the need to make a public announcement or anything. Actually signing the piece of paper was nothing more than a formality.”
